ebm-papst wins 2005 CleanRooms award for Most Practical/Immediately Useful New Product

Boston, MA - March 25, 2005 ebm-papst Inc.'s EC-i motor wins "Most Practical/Immediately Useful New Product/Service" at the 2005 Contamination Control Technology (CCT) Conference & Exhibition in Boston, MA. Featured on exhibit were representative examples of ebm-papst's Backward Curved Motorized Impellers with integrated EC-i motors (i.e. series R3G450 and R3G630).

The ebm-papst EC-i motor delivers higher efficiency and lower noise emissions over its AC motor counterparts. Speed control of AC motors affects the acoustic performance when the controller generates current harmonics. The resulting changes in force and torque lead to radiation of air noise. EC-i fans and blowers made by ebm-papst have motor and commutation electronics optimally matched to prevent vibrations and guarantee silent operation across the entire control range. The EC-i motor is now available in a variety of sizes from the M3G150 with 4HP down to the M3G055 with 50-Watt. The associated fan sizes now range from axial types 10 to 39 inches, backward-curved impellers 5.25 to 25 inches, and forward-curved centrifugals from 5.5 to 9 inches. Air movers with the EC-i motor are entirely plug-n-play for easy installation into existing HVAC/R equipment.
